Proof-reading is a neccesary part of preparing a manuscript for publication. Anything missed at this point could possibly end up in your published book.

It is expensive because it takes a lot of time, and the longer the book is the longer it takes. It's hard to do it yourself, and probably best to get a friend to do it.

We provide the service. It costs £600 for 80,000 words.

The one major mistake to avoid is this

The use of the carriage return key at the end of a line will automatically embed an unwanted line break into your manuscript which will be revealed as soon as the book is typeset. These all have to be removed manually, each one!

Authors should only use the carriage return key to start a new paragraph- not otherwise!
